Get the latest portable app. template ^(https://www.appmarsh.com/link/https://sourceforge.net/projects/thumbapps/files/Security/BitviseSSH/template/), and extract the content with 7-Zip.
Get the latest BitviseSSH client release ^(https://www.appmarsh.com/link/https://www.bitvise.com/ssh-client-download).
Install it in VMware with at least Windows 7 64 bit and get its binaries.
Move the binaries to BitviseSSHClientPortableAppBitviseSSHClient folder,
Extract the FlowSshNet32.msi and FlowSshNet64.msi by following this guide ^(https://www.appmarsh.com/link/http://www.appmarsh.com/2018/12/identify-extract-unpack-MSI-file-installers-without-installing.html).
Browse to the extracted FlowSshNet32WinSystem folder, move its contents to AppBitviseSSHClient32-bit folder.
Browse to FlowSshNet32Bitvise FlowSshNet folder, move FlowSshNetSamples folder also to AppBitviseSSHClient32-bit folder,
Do do same thing with the extracted FlowSshNet64.msi but to AppBitviseSSHClient64-bit folder,
Browse to AppBitviseSSHClient folder and delete: FlowSshNet32.msi, FlowSshNet64.msi, and uninst.exe,
Browse to BitviseSSHClientPortableAppAppInfo and open appinfo.ini file with NPP. Replace the [Version] section with the latest version number. Make sure the PackageVersion entry is in 4 place digit, eg. 22.214.171.124 not just 7.39.0 nor 7.39,
Run PAL, paste the template folder address C: TESTBitviseSSHClientPortable, and click Go—a new launcher will be created,
Test the new launchers by following this guide ^(https://www.appmarsh.com/link/http://www.appmarsh.com/2018/12/Check-portable-application-clean-stealth-using-before-and-after-run-snapshot-log-comparison.html).
When all is OK, then delete the BitviseSSHClientPortableData folder and run PAI, paste the package folder address C: TESTBitviseSSHClientPortable, and click Go—to create the installer package.
Use the installer package to upgrade your portable application. Don’t forget to at least backup your Data folder before any upgrade 🙂
