‘Cheap’ Samsung Galaxy S10 Could Be In The Works

Samsung’s Galaxy S series of smartphones represents one of the company’s flagship lineups. As expected of flagship phones, they do not come cheap, but it looks like Samsung could be taking a page out of Apple’s book by launching three Galaxy S10 variants next year, with one of them being a “cheaper” model.

This is according to a report from Bloomberg who claims that there will be the “standard” Galaxy S10 variant with curved screens on its sides, an even larger version of the Galaxy S10 Plus, and also a cheaper Galaxy S10 that might do away with the curved edges and could also skip out on the under-display fingerprint sensor.

If this sounds familiar, it is because it is a similar strategy employed by Apple this year, where they launched the higher-end iPhone Xs and Xs Max models, and the iPhone XR which represented a more affordable iPhone for those who wanted a new iPhone but didn’t necessarily need all the bells and whistles.

Exactly how much cheaper this “cheap” Galaxy S10 variant could cost, but we’ll probably have to wait until 2020 to find out. In today’s climate where smartphone makers are charging upwards of $1,000 for smartphones, a cheaper flagship model is starting to appeal to customers.
