OnePlus devices come with their own custom UX,, which maintains proximity to stock Android while still mixing in some of its spice through additional features. The company maintains two public release tracks for its devices: the Stable branch and the Open Beta branch. There is another Closed Beta branch for internal testing, but those builds are not available to the public. On the other hand, users on the Open Beta get to try out new features before those features make their way to Stable. For instance, and for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro allowed users to try out Android 10 before the . Now, OnePlus has begun rolling out Open Beta 3 for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro, bringing along several bug fixes and Work-Life Balance mode for users in India.
OxygenOS Open Beta 3 for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro
The update has begun rolling out to both the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro through an OTA.
Work-Life Balance is one of thethat OnePlus has been developing for its users in India. The feature can be found in Settings -> Utilities -> Work-Life Balance. With Work-Life Balance, users can essentially define triggers for entering and exiting both Work mode and Life mode and select the apps whose notifications will be muted in those modes. Triggers can be based on your schedule (for example, 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday), connections to WiFi networks, or your location.
So in essence, when you enter your office, your leisure-related notifications such as from Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook will be muted. On the flip side, when you reach home and have your time to yourself, your work-related notifications such as from Outlook, Trello, and other work-related apps can be muted. As the name implies, the idea is to define, demarcate and balance your work and your life. I hope OnePlus considers extending the feature to other regions too, as I fail to see why this should be a region-specific feature.
