Analytics Reveal Growing Number of iPhones and iPads Running iOS 13

Analytics

The folks over at appmarsh ^(https://www.appmarsh.com/2019/01/02/apple-devices-ios-13-analytics/) have noticed a spike in the number of iOS devices visiting their website running iOS 13, almost all coming from Apple IP addresses, in the past couple of months. Looking at the analytics, it wouldn’t be wrong to assume that Apple is picking up work on the next big iOS release.

We first spotted devices running iOS 13 in October, and in November and December, visits from iPhones with iOS 13 installed have increased. Visits slowed during late December, but should pick up again now that the holidays are over and work is continuing.

There were several iOS 12 features that were delayed to allow Apple to work on bug fixes and other under-the-hood improvements, and we’re expecting to see these delayed features introduced in iOS 13.

According to previous reports and rumours, Apple is expected to include new iPad-specific features in iOS 13, including an all-new Files app, in-app tabs for opening multiple windows of the same app, as well as support for using the same app side-by-side in Split View multitasking mode, among other UI enhancements.

Some delayed iOS 12 features, such as a redesigned Home screen app grid and expanded photo management features, might also be released with iOS 13.

We can expect to see the first look at iOS 13 in June at Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference.
